Announcement and agenda: 2006-07-05 Conference Call
Attending: Dan Corwin, Emek Demir, Christian Lemer, Elgar Pichler, Ranjani Ramakrishnan, Jonathan Rees, Alan Ruttenberg, Andrea Splendiani, Jeremy Zucker
This was our first experiment using a parallel IM chat. Transcript is here: attachment:skype-transcript. Please note that this only captures the IM channel, not the voice channel.
Next meeting: Next week (July 12) at the usual time, to include various people who couldn't make it today. Alan will convene (announce and set up conference call). Elgar will moderate.
Cold Spring Harbor redux:
Jeremy's notes are on the wiki, CSHF2Fmeeting/Day1Notes. Jonathan volunteered to review them.
No decisions were taken on outstanding proposals; decisions will await review and implementation experience.
INOH and Reactome (Ken and Peter) said they would be stakeholders for the states and generics proposal.
For gene regulation, no specific stakeholders identified.
Development status update:
Alan is looking into rules, e.g. SWRL, and is soliciting use cases
Jeremy working on pH balancing UCSD, Ecocyc chemical formulas
Ranjani is looking at Emek's code. Alan volunteered to review plans, suitability of various API's for her purposes.
Issue: integrity constraints: Andrea will create an example that distinguishes integrity constraint properties from other properties.
Governance:
Amendment fixing working from "decisions for the group" to "decisions for the project" accepted by everyone present
Governance document BioPAX Governance assented by everyone present (roll call). This was not considered a vote but rather more of a poll. It was considered desirable to get input from a few others who had major investment in the project before saying that we had adopted the document.
Proposal to require more than 1 week notice of F2F meetings tabled
IM: No objections. Choice of technology (AIM, IRC, chat) is an issue, but no opinions one way or another were offerred. We will try Skype again next week. Jonathan will provide instructions (SkypeInstructions). Moderator must be in on the Skype chat. Keep in mind that some callers will not be able to be in the chat.
Future meetings: ISMB: Biopathways canceled, many people not traveling to Brazil, so probably no BioPAX business at ISMB. Emek and Ken will attend SBGN (Systems Biology Graphics Notation) workshop at ICSB, Japan, October 7.
